I have decided to join "Blog World". I figured it would be a good idea to have one location where I can express random thoughts (original title I know), vent, or just update anyone who might care on my life. So, to catch you all up to speed... I'm 25, married, and have the world's most precious little boy - Garrison - who is 3! That about sums it up... just kidding. Let's see - I grew up in Garland, met Garrett at 15 (which I have to admit is scary when I actually see a 15 year old now) and we started dating! We both moved to Waco after high school where I went to MCC and he went to TSTC (what's up with all the abbreviations by the way?). We also both worked at El Chico - good times. While Waco was a beautiful city (joke) we both decided it wasn't for us and came back. I lived with my best friend Natalie for about a year and Garrett joined the Navy. He went to Chicago for boot camp and then was stationed in Groton, CT for training. We were engaged in September of 2002 and married in Feburary of 2003. I'll have to figure out a way to get wedding pictures on here because "back in the day" I didn't have a digital camera. We moved to Connecticut where Garrett was stationed and became rookies in the military life. Looking back, I don't regret any of our decisions or getting married young. I will say that first year was like the year from hell - I couldn't help but continue to wonder WHO thought that could be considered a honeymoon phase. I'm sure some of it had to do with the fact that we were 3,000 miles away from home and I was a whopping 19. Oh well, we learned together and it made us so much stronger. Moving on - we moved to Virginia and lived there about a year. I became pregnant (surprise!) in January of 2005 and Garrett was scheduled for deployment when I would be delivering. Tough call - we decided for me to move back to Texas to have the baby around family. Good choice! I moved in with mom and dad in June of '05 and gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy on September 23, 2005. Garrison Robert Thomas! Garrett got out of the Navy and we lived with my parents for about 6 months (with our two dogs by the way). I'd like to point out that my parents are SAINTS! Then we moved to our first home in Wylie. We love it and have been there for almost 3 years now. Life is wonderful! I am working as a full time Admin Assistant at an Insurance Company for the claims director. Garrett has been at a commercial AC company as a service tech for about 3 years now. He just started going back to school in August to get his mechanical engineering degree. (Thank you military for that GI bill.) For those who ask my parents are great, sister is married and living in Houston with two beautiful kiddos, and the rest of the family is awesome! I will write more later. That is just an update on my life to this point.
